The new production release, release 2010.1, is available since the 31th of March. We are very pleased to inform you about the following highlights of this release:

Documents to Excel So far, many documents could be printed to screen or printer, or saved as a file, but not exported directly to Microsoft Excel. Release 2010.1 introduces the ability to export documents directly to Excel for some documents. This allows you to edit the information further more, for instance management reports, in a way that best suits your needs.

Pluriform 64-bits In release 2010.1 the Pluriform client is also available in a 64-bits version¹. The 64-bit versions ability of using the resources of the operating system are enhanced, making the performance a little better. The limited memory space of a 32-bit client may in some cases  set a limit to the performance of Pluriform. In the 64-bit client no practical memory limitation exists. An example is printing or displaying large documents. The 64-bit client is no longer confined by the memory limit that exists for the 32-bit version. Because this restriction is not imposed in the 64-bit client, it improves the performance of the 64-bit client. ¹ You can only use the 64-bits version if you have a 64-bit operating system. You can verify this by looking at the properties of the icon "Computer" on your desktop.

E-mail notificatie framework Within the module E-mail integration a new framework is introduced for defining automatic e-mail notifications. Automatic e-mail notifications can be deployed to other users with information on events in Pluriform. Think of an e-mail to the IT-manager if certain errors occurred or a notification if new  information on a patient is available for a health care professional. Within the notification framework, notification templates can defined. For each template, you can: Define what objects (events) should be notified. Create subscribtions for (who receives) the email-notifications. Determine on what time interval the e-mails should be sent (e.g. every 30 minutes, every day or every week). Monitoring time intervals and sending the e-mail is handled automatically by the Pluriform engine. Pluriform User Interface 2010 The Pluriform User interface is improved in release 2010.1 and Teamwork is given a brand new design. Windows Forms was introduced in release 2009.2 and uses .NET components. These components are extended and new functionality is added to the user interface. A example of this is the possibility to show help icons on attributes. Also the generation of dialogs by the Pluriform engine is improved and Teamwork is given a brand new design.

Load balancing In release 2010.1 load balancing for webconnectors is added to Pluriform. In previous versions, a user was linked to a webconnector. From that moment on, all tasks executed by the user where sent to that specific webconnector. If the webconnector was busy, this approach could lead to delays, even if others webconnectors where less busy at that moment. In release 2010.1, when a webconnector is busy, the task will be directed to another available, but less busy, webconnector. This approach will minimize delays and it will make better use of the available webconnectors.

Web Applications In release 2010.1, the class Web Application is added. This class functions as starting point for a collection of web frameworks. For some time now, it has been possible to call other web framework functionality from a web framework through use of sub-frameworks. However, since these sub-frameworks are web frameworks themselves it was easy to lose track of which web framework was the topmost framework and, as such, which global settings would be effectuated. To improve this situation, the class Web Application has been added in 2010.1. This class provides a single point of entry for a collection of web frameworks and offers an overview of the used sub-frameworks and how they are related. Furthermore this class now contains all the global settings so that it is immediately clear which values are used.

Web Framework extensions The webframework enables the development of a web user interface for Pluriform. This framework is used not only for new webapplications, but also for the (partial) replacement of the existing windows user interface. There are several extensions of the webframework. These extensions allow an easier (partial) replacement of the windows user interface. Some examples of these extensions. Support for tabbed pages in the web userinterface. Extended navigation options. Support for integrating existing tasks and documents (with PDF/HTML-output). Searching in listboxes is enabled. Extended layout and formatting possibilities in the texteditor. Support for bold/italic texts, bulleted lists and building blocks. [ More ] Contact registration In version 2009.2 the registration of contactmoments has been improved. This change follows the introduction of the new correspondence framework in 2009.1 The following changes have been made: Outgoing correspondence is written and sent from the same window. This gives a better access to the message actual sent. Each type of contact has its own form, especially designed for the medium involved. The registration of a telephone call is different from the way an appointment or outgoing correspondence is registered. For retrieving contacts a new registration is available: Contact moment. This shows all contacts with an organization in chronological order. [ More ] Email invoices With the new correspondence framework you'll have new opportunities to communicatie with your customers or suppliers. These advantages have been used for sending invoices. You can register at each debtor if you want to sent invoices by email or that you still want to sent them by mail. By emailing you will achieve not only an efficiency improvement (it is not necessary to put letters in envelopes), but also: A shorter pass through: an invoice arrives in seconds instead of days. A more efficient process at the customer: the invoice is available as an image and can be distributed very easy. Besides emailing a pdf-file, it is also possible to attach a structured (xml) file at the email message. If processing software is available, the invoice can be automatically imported in the financial administration. [ More ] Event Monitor: new possibilities The event monitor is available for administrators. This monitor gives an overview of the Pluriform system. It also allows you to get a detailed overview of a situation when dealing with incidents. The eventmonitor has several new features: Extended filter options for displaying systemlogs. It is now also possible to filter these logs based on a part of a day (a time interval). New tabs with information about active users and the activities they have undertaken. These overviews also support the extended filter options. With these new options it is easier to analyze problems: All necessary information is available in one screen without the need for seperate selections in other screens. Errors can be marked as 'solved'. Unsolved errors can be filtered from all logs. [ More ] ICP declaration 2010 Starting january 1st, 2010 all services for customers in other EU-countries should be included in the ICP declaration (EC Sales list). The European Community has agreed that legislation dealing with taxes should be simplified. This means that: The Dutch name changes from ICL to ICP. A name change was needed because services are also added to the EC sales list (in addition to the declaration of goods). Organizations should send ICP declarations on a monthly basis instead of each quarter Starting january 1st, also services are considered to be part of the ICP declaration. In the declaration itself, for each line should be mentioned that it is a delivery of goods, a service or an ABC-delivery. [ More ] Dynamic add columns Pluriform offers the possibility of creating selections and customizing the layoutsby selecting the columns. Adding columns to new and existing selections has been improved. Not only is adding or deleting columns for end users more easy, but also these actions are stored. This means each user can set-up its own user interface. Advantages: In the selection of invoices a project manager will add the column "project", while the bookkeeper is more interested in the due date. In the selection of organizations, the marketing department want to see the ABC-classification, while the purchase department is more interested in the latest supplier assesment. [ More ] Budgets Within Pluriform you can define a budget for each ledger and booking period. In this budget you can vary on cost centre.  The budget values are (optionally) calculated on financial reports (such as "Accounts" and "Period Summary"). In this release the following changes have taken place: Entry of budgets is improved and provide a better insight in the details of the total budget. Budget allocation formulae are more easy to define and can be assigned from the budget entry view. You can define one or more budgetversions, so tracing changes during a book year is possible. You have to authorize a budget, before it will appear on financial reports. The logic handling budget is part of the new module Budgets. [ More ] Book other currencies The several subadministrations can not only registered in euros, but also in other currencies. For example the invoices you have sent to customers in other countries. In this version we have taken a closer look to these "other currencies". Dating from the 1990's, the registration of invoices and purchase invoices contains other currencies. Beside invoices, in the branche model "Pluriform Not for profit" a subsidary administration is added. Especially in the subsidary administration, long term obligations with high values in other currencies occur. For example a subsidary of 100,000 USD over a period of 2 years. Fluctuations in the rate of the dollar have consequences for the value of this obligation. With this release, the following has been changed: A new module is available to realign assets and debts. On a journalitem values are stored in bookkeeping currency as well as other currencies. Logic for payments are refactored and are based on the currency of invoices. [ More ] Leave and absence The registration of employees in Pluriform contains a extensive registration of leave and absences. This module is expanded with the registration of settlements. Often, it occurs that leave is exchanged for a financial reward. Until now, you could change the total amount of time. From now on it is posible to specify in more detail the time exchanged. Door gewijzigde wetgeving is het gebruik van het BSN in de zorg verplicht. Ter ondersteuning hiervan stelt het SBV-Z een aantal online diensten ter beschikking. Zorginstellingen kunnen door middel van een UZI-pas of een servercertificaat gebruik maken van deze online diensten:

• Reguliere bevraging (RB): het opvragen of verifiëren van een burgerservicenummer (BSN) door persoonsgegevens in te voeren en deze als bericht naar SBV-Z te sturen.
  
• Initiële vulling (IV): het door SBV-Z initieel laten vullen van Pluriform Zorg met de burgerservicenummers (BSN’s) van een grote groep cliënten.
  
• WID controle: een geautomatiseerde check bij SBV-z of het wettelijke identiteitsdocument van een cliënt in omloop is.
  

Het BSN Zorgkeurmerk toont aan dat een zorginformatiesysteem op een juiste en gebruikersvriendelijke wijze het vaststellen van het BSN en de identiteit bij de patiënt ondersteunt met behulp van de BSN-diensten van de SBV-Z. Pluriform Zorg voldoet niet alleen aan alle eisen van SBV-Z, maar ook aan alle verdere aanbevelingen. Daarom is aan Pluriform Zorg het speciale keurmerk RB/IV plus toegekend.

The base of the correspondence framework is a new class "Outgoing corrrespondence". All your invoices, letters, e-mails etc are being archived as an outgoing correspondence.

The most important advantages are:

Archiving and history: each correspondence that you send, is archived as "Outgoing correspondence". The exact content is stored; you can always reprint or resend the documents. It is also possible to archive outgoing correspondences as contact.
Correspondence with several documents: within one correspondence you can specify several documents: e.g. a correspondence that contains a covering letter, a main document and one or more enclosures.
Working with concepts: better support for creating and editing concepts; for each letter or document you can specify whether changes are allowed before printing or e-mailing. Editing and finalizing concepts has been made easier for end users
Configuring addressing: the end user now gets advanced features setting up addressees. You can define organizations and persons as "Involved party"; for each involved party, you can specifiy preferences (e.g. preferred medium, style or different address label)

In release 2009.1 you can send SMS-messages from a Pluriform system. This SMS-integration enables you to inform all people concerned quickly and personally.

A new module SMS integratie has been introduced in Pluriform 2009.1.
SMS-integration enables you to inform people concerned in a very effectieve manner. For instance, you might inform your employees on the last changes in the planning, or inform your customers about urgent matters, or inform the system administrator about unexpected events. You could even go further and offer online checking in for flights or offer SMS train tickets.

Sending SMS-messages can lead to substantial improvements in efficency. Recently this feature has been deployed to support the communication of planning details. Using SMS-messaging in stead of phone calls saved four hours a day.

SMS intgration enables the sending of SMS-messages based on HTTP-API:

In samenwerking met Redactron (www.redactron.nl) heeft Adapcare bedrijfsbrede functionaliteit voor leveranciers van zorghulpmiddelen ontwikkeld. Deze functionaliteit is volledig geïntegreerd in Pluriform Zorg. Daarmee biedt Pluriform Zorg nu ondersteuning voor de bekende levervormen (verhuur, verkoop, verkoop met terugkoop, bruikleen en permanente verhuur), opdrachtsoorten (leveren, retour halen, naleveren, omruilen, reinigen, repareren) en financieringen (instellingen, zorgverzekeraars, zorgkantoren, gemeenten en particulieren). Pluriform Zorg ondersteunt alle processen van een leverancier, waaronder anamnese, herindicatie, elektronische controle op het verzekeringsrecht (COV), elektronisch declaratieverkeer (LH307 en LH308), artikelbeheer (enkelvoudige artikelen, samengestelde artikelen, serienummers), correspondentie (brieven, faxen, e-mails, VOIP), boekhouding en managementrapportage. Met recht een bedrijfsbreed systeem.

The webframework has been improved in navigation, Pluriform integration and security.

In the webframework following improvements are realized:

Navigation
The navigation of the web framework is designed to support the object/relation structure of Pluriform. This structure is presented (and edited) graphically, blocks representing dialogs and lines the navigation between them. In this way the navigation of the web application is easy to see and understand.

Pluriform Data Integration
Webdialogs had to be implemented with structs. Much effort was needed to synchronise these structs with the database. The webframework now simply uses objects and their attributes. So you are comfortable that users see and edit (if allowed) the real values in the datamodel.

Security
Much attention is payed to security during the development of the new webframework. The structure of the webframework is not only used to represent the navigationstructure, but is also used to set the accesslimits for webusers. Data is only available on the internet after giving clearance explicitly.

In de Automatisering Gids van 13 april 2007 heeft een interview gestaan met Bart van Achterberg, directeur van Curadomi, over de ontwikkeling en implementatie van Pluriform Zorg.

Software is ingeblikte bedrijfskunde

Pluriform Software heeft een brancheoplossing ontwikkeld voor de zorg, waarbij klanten vanuit hun eigen inhoudelijke expertise zelf bijdragen. Door gebruik te maken van elkaars kennis, kunnen de kosten omlaag, gaat de kwaliteit omhoog en worden de bouw- en implementatietijden verkort.

Het initiatief, Gedeelde Zorg geheten, is ontstaan vanuit het idee dat twee meer weten dan één. “Als ze het bij de buren beter doen dan bij jou, waarom zou je dan niet profiteren van de kennis en ervaring die ze daar hebben opgedaan?”, vindt Bart van Achterberg, directeur van Curadomi te Veenendaal.

In 2003 besloot de thuiszorgorganisatie (700 medewerkers verdeeld over 20 teams in 6 vestigingen) over te stappen van een standaardoplossing die wordt gebruikt door de meeste thuiszorginstellingen naar Pluriform Zorg van het kleine, zeker in de zorgsector onbekende softwarebedrijf uit Uden. “Het systeem waarmee wij werkten voldeed niet. De situatie was desastreus: een centrale database ontbrak, waardoor cliëntgegevens gemiddeld tien keer opnieuw ingevoerd moesten worden, waardoor de kans op fouten en doublures aanzienlijk was. En als je iets wilde veranderen aan het systeem moest je zo’n zes maanden wachten voordat je aan de beurt was. Daar kon en wilde ik niet op wachten.”

Van Achterberg wilde een geïntegreerde oplossing die zowel het primaire proces van zorgaanvraag tot en met facturering, als de ondersteunende processen, zoals de financiële administratie, HRM, managementrapportage en kwaliteitsborging ondersteunt. “Een integraal systeem in een omgeving als de zorg, waar de processen steeds veranderen, is alleen mogelijk met flexibele software. Viavia kwam ik uit bij Pluriform Software, die op dat moment geen enkele ervaring had in de zorg.”
Omdat de filosofie van het bedrijf en de toegepaste ontwikkelmethodiek hem aansprak, besloot hij toch met hen in zee te gaan. In het begin was er scepsis over de beloften van het Brabantse softwarebedrijf, maar die werd volgens hem snel overwonnen. “In de pilotfase toonde het aan echt iets te kunnen neerzetten in een korte tijd. Na de bouw van de eerste module voor cliëntregistratie, had ik vertrouwen dat de rest snel zou volgen. In zes weken tijd is ons hele primaire proces neergezet, terwijl andere partijen zeiden daar minstens een jaar voor nodig te hebben.”

Rode cijfers
Curadomi belandde in de eerste helft van 2005 in de rode cijfers, na de invoering van een nieuw bekostingingssysteem in de zorg, waarbij verrichtingen niet langer werden vergoed naar de kosten van de professional, maar naar het geleverde product. “Onze mensen bleken te duur voor de diensten die we leverden. De expertise van onze medewerkers moest beter worden afgestemd op de zorgvraag van onze klanten.” De organisatie besloot in te zetten op een betere en flexibelere planning en zette daarbij de software van Pluriform in. Zo kon het de juiste informatie uit alle beschikbare data naar boven krijgen. Na een forse reorganisatie, overigens zonder ontslagen, is het verlies omgebogen naar een bescheiden operationele winst over heel 2005. “Zonder Pluriform was het een hachelijke job geweest om Curadomi te reorganiseren, omdat we onze plannen dan niet hadden kunnen onderbouwen met de juiste cijfers en goede argumenten.”

Tijd over
De Curadomi-directeur is erg te spreken over het ‘Gedeelde Zorg’-concept van Pluriform. “Als je kennis deelt leidt dit tot een betere prijs/prestatieverhouding voor alle zorgpartijen. Bovendien houd je, omdat er steeds meer kennis in het systeem komt, steeds meer tijd over om je te richten op je core business: het leveren van goede zorg. De productie van Curadomi is in drie jaar tijd verdubbeld met maar 30 procent meer leidinggevenden en 15 procent meer mensen op het hoofdkantoor; een productiviteitsverbetering van management en overhead van meer dan 60 procent." Curadomi heeft met gesloten beurzen in de applicatie vastgelegde zorgkennis gedeeld met InteraktContour, een instelling voor dagbesteding en wonen. “Zij gebruiken de door ons ontwikkelde cliëntenregistratie. Wij gebruiken het door hun ontwikkelde AZR-systeem.” Hij denkt dat hij veel zorginstellingen kan helpen aan een vliegende start: “Met onze ervaring als basis kan je binnen drie maanden een andere, middelgrote thuiszorgorganisatie op dezelfde manier live hebben.”


Pluriform Software (kader)

Pluriform Software, handelsnaam van Windgassen Software bv,  werd in 1980 opgericht door Nico en Hanny Windgassen. Het eerste product heette Travers, een standaard softwarepakket voor administratieve verwerking. Sinds 1993 wordt er gewerkt volgens het zogenaamde ‘agile mass-customization’-concept, een tussenvorm van het relatief dure maatwerk en inflexibele standaardsoftware. “Wij combineren de voordelen van standaard software, zoals voorspelbare levertijd, hoge kwaliteit en lage kosten, met de voordelen van maatwerk – gebouwd voor het specifieke bedrijfsproces van de klant”, licht Business Development Manager Freek Erens toe.

Op die manier is de software aanpasbaar aan de specifieke situatie van de klant en is de reactiesnelheid hoog. Er.komt dagelijks een nieuwe versie beschikbaar, waarop de klant kan overgaan als hij dat wil. Andere uitgangspunten zijn hergebruik van kennis om de kosten laag en de kwaliteit hoog te houden en integratie van organisatiebrede processen. Pluriform Software maakt voor het samenstellen van nieuwe informatiesystemen voor de ondersteuning van bedrijfsprocessen gebruik van het modelleerplatform (Pluriform Studio), een op Microsoft Windows gebaseerde ontwikkel en run-time omgeving waarmee klanten hun bedrijfsprocessen modelleren en uitvoeren. De bibliotheek waarmee het bedrijf werkt bestaat zowel uit brancheoverstijgende als branchespecifieke bouwblokken. “Wij proberen de techniek zo veel mogelijk te verbergen. Ons uitgangspunt is dat software ingeblikte bedrijfskunde is en dat veel bedrijfsprocessen eerder maatschappelijk- dan privé-eigendom zijn”, meent Erens.

Voor de zorgsector nam het onlangs het initiatief tot ‘Gedeelde Zorg’, een gemeenschappelijk ontwikkelsysteem voor de zorg. “De essentie is dat een brede waaier aan toepassingsgebieden en klanten gebruik maakt van één ‘zorgmodel’, waaraan al deze partijen vanuit hun eisen en wensen en met hun eigen inhoudelijke expertise ook bijdragen”, licht operationeel manager Ad den Hengst toe. De rol van Pluriform Software is beperkt tot facilitator van dit proces. Naast Curadomi nemen onder meer de volgende zorginstellingen deel: InteraktContour, Allerzorg, Academisch Ziekenhuis Maastricht, Rivas en Zorgnetwerk Midden-Brabant.

Vandaag, 31 januari 2007, zijn de eerste deponeringen uitgevoerd in het kader van Stichting Waarborg Pluriform.

Deze Stichting werd op 28 juni 2006 opgericht om de continuïteit voor de gebruikers van Pluriform te waarborgen in het geval dat Pluriform Software of een Pluriform Partner onverhoopt in gebreke mocht blijven. In het geval van een calamiteit krijgt Stichting de beschikking over de bij de notaris gedeponeerde actuele broncode van de betreffende leverancier (Pluriform Software of een Pluriform Partner). Ook zal de Stichting dan toegang krijgen tot de modelleurs van Pluriform Software en Pluriform Partners om deze Broncode te kunnen onderhouden.
